Wexford Dog Rehoming Centre
Wexford Dog Rehoming Centre is located at Ballycarney, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford and operated by Petsfirst on behalf of Wexford County Council.
Dogs that are stray or unwanted enter the kennels where they are kept safe and comfortable until they are reclaimed by their owners or rehomed.
The kennels are purpose built, safe and secure with indoor and outdoor areas for each dog, tiled floors, underfloor heating, fully insulated and dogs can be exercised in large grass and concrete outdoor yards.
There is a modern reception and waiting area and dogs for rehoming can be viewed
Staff at the kennels are highly trained and experienced and provide an excellent standard of care and rehabilitation when needed, to the dogs at the centre.
Stray dogs brought to the kennels by the Dog Wardens are scanned for a microchip. If a chip is located, the registered owner is contacted and the dog can be reunited with them.
If no chip is found, the dog will undergo a health check and veterinary treatment will be obtained if necessary. The dog will remain at the kennels while every effort is made to locate the owner.
If a dog is not reclaimed by its owner, the dog will be made available for rehoming.
